ClearType là một chương trình hiển thị font chữ của Microsoft cho phép người dùng cải thiện chất lượng chữ hiển thị trong windows XP (đặc biệt cho người dùng LCD). Bằng việc sử dụng công nghệ Font-redering của Microsoft, chương trình giúp cải thiện chất lượng hiển thị của chữ rõ hơn và mượt hơn. Nhờ đó bạn sẽ có được cái nhìn tốt hơn khi sử dụng máy tính.
Bạn có thể so sánh chữ trong windows xp trước và sau khi sử dụng chương trình ở 2 hình bên dưới:
Như bạn thấy chất lượng chữ ở hình trên (chưa sử dụng chương trình ClearType) mờ và kém rõ nét hơn so với bảng bên dưới (đã sử dụng ClearType).
Để tải chương trình này bạn click vào đây.
Sau khi cài đặt để khởi động chương trình bạn thực hiện như sau:
1. Vào Start > Control Panel, click chọn biểu tượng ClearType Turning.
2. Ở thẻ Introduction click chọn Turn On ClearType rồi click OK.

Cần gì phải tải phần mềm cho mệt. Bạn ra Desktop -> Properties -> Appearance -> Effects, Click chọn Use the following method to smooth edges, trong combo box bên dưới, bạn chọn ClearType => Xong!
